Mezco Toyz One:12 A Nightmare on Elm Street: Freddy Krueger Review

The figure itself is another stunner
The figure itself is another stunner. It goes really well with my Michael, Ash, and Jason figures from the same line. This is just on the surface. I mean the thing looks incredible just taking him out and standing him there. I haven’t even gotten to the detail yet.
The packaging made me laugh because of how careful Mezco is. They had pretty much every little piece covered with some added plastic sheet. The head was covered, then the hat was covered, and then covered again with a hard plastic shell. It was pretty fantastic.
The first thing I was curious about was the rest of the body. They did a great job on his face/head but would the arms and such look as good or did they just go for the cover and forget it thing that so many clothed figures do. I’m glad to say that Mezco kept the burn scarring going up to the elbows.
Now, you’ll probably never pose Fred in a way that you’ll see his forearms, but that’s a damn fine detail to include. The thing that amused me most is that they didn’t do the body the same way. I pulled up the infamous sweater and found that Freddy’s been working out.
The glove itself looks great. I am no expert on the quality of Freddy gloves and how well they match from one film to the next, but this looks good enough for me. They included some shine on some of the metal so it’s not all one color and the design of the coloring gives it a lot of detail. The sculpt of the glove is great as well.
Freddy’s hat fits his head perfectly; you can even place it on his head in different positions to get new looks and it doesn’t fall off. Placing it in his hand is no big deal either. He happily holds in in a couple positions that look completely natural.
The clothes fit really nice and are not too bulky or over-sized. I’m not sure how Mezco seems like the only company to work this out, but here we are. I love their clothed figures more than any other company.
My favorite thing about the removable face is that the eyes holes line up with the eyes on the head. You wouldn’t know it just looking at the face, but I was impressed by how different the face looks on and off that head.
all in all it’s a masterpiece that belongs in any Freddy fan’s collection. Seriously, if you have to save the money to get this figure, do it. This one really delivers everything a fan could want from an ANoES piece.

It is a Dream
The clothes have an excellent detail due to the size they have. The colors, the seams and the aging are sublime.
The detail of the claws and heads make it a hyper hyper realistic figure.
The base with the cover of the film is appreciated.
I hope I can get the other horror hero figures.
