This guy could star in his own killer doll movie!
Anyway, this Pennywise is just fantastic. He's dressed in real cloth, which looks phenomenal. The body is the same typical doll body, he's quite well balanced. It has a sound feature which speaks a handful of the lines from the movie - and the lines it says are creepy as hell, including the "you'll float too..." repeating and growing to a yell then monster voice (best way I can describe it, if you've seen the move then you get it). The figure is 15" tall and fully articulated for this type of figure.
The details they put on here look terrific. The highlight is the clothing. They really went out of their way to scale these to the figure and put in all the intricacies that will make it as accurate as they can. Of course they include the little pom poms on the shoes. The head design is great too. Of course it's designed to go along with the style of the doll, but it's got that Skarsgard smile and the head "crackle" pattern. The paint on it is great too, nothing out of the ordinary, they made it look like the clown in the film. Pretty straight forward.
Honestly, I almost want someone to make a killer doll movie with this guy as the featured murderer. He's like some kind of adorable little homicidal clown. I think there's potential there...
Finally, as with all of Mezco's stuff the figure comes in a collector friendly box. What that means is you can see it really well through the window in the box, you can open the box and re-close it so you can keep the figure nice and still retain the box it came in. If you're careful you can even open it without any residue from the closure stickers and without ripping the print layer from the box. This is great because you can always just take him out to play with, hear the sounds, then put him back in protection.
It's just as well to leave him out because it looks fantastic! And who wants to go through the trouble of packing him up every time you want to play those wicked lines from the flick? That's also part of why I love the larger figures so much. They look incredible just displayed standing out of the box.
This guy is going to run you around $100 bucks. I know that's a lot of money, but with everything this piece has going for it, I'd say it worth it. I know I get on Mezco a lot about their prices, but they are a collectibles company and not so much a toy company. It just really hurts my wallet every time they announce a new figure.
I hope you're all grabbing these mega scale figures because some day I really want a shelf just dedicated to Mezco mega scale stuff and I would hate the be the only one who could show off that setup. It would be one hell of an incredible focal point in any collection.
